It is always a delight to welcome Kent and Sandra Pool when they have opportunity to fellowship with us. Kent and Sandra are veteran missionaries with ABWE in the Philippines, and have a treasured relationship with us as one of their supporting churches. The Pools have been in the states for a family wedding, and will be returning to the Philippines in about a week. Kent will be bringing the message from God’s Word on Sunday morning. Sunday, May 9th, 2010 Faith is not the same as courage. Yes, sometimes faith requires courage, but courage is no substitute for faith. Consider the Israelites and the Egyptians at the edge of the Red Sea. Both groups had courage to enter the sea through the way opened by the Lord. The results, however, were quite different for each. As we continue our study of faith in Hebrews 11, we will consider faith expressed in regards to miracles. We will also gain insight into the salvation provided to us by Christ. Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 We return this week to the Lord’s Table, and to our sermon series on the “Amen, amen” passages in John’s Gospel. The passage is the fourth of six occurrences of this saying found in the special chapters which record the events in the Upper Room where the Last Supper was held. Our text is John 13:31-14:7. These verses contain some of the most stirring and comforting words in Scripture. The “truly, truly” saying also underscores why we so desperately need a Savior. We shall keep all of this in mind as we approach our Lord’s Word and Table. Download MP3 Audio
