We return this week to the Lord’s Table, and to our sermon series on the “Amen, amen” passages in John’s Gospel. This week we come to a turning point in the ministry of Jesus. In our passage, he states, “The hour has come.” Events would now unfold in such a way so that in less than one week’s time, Jesus would be crucified. These events, however, are not a surprise to Jesus, nor are they circumstances spinning out of control. The crucifixion is the destination—the mission—for which Jesus came into the world. The purpose of his crucifixion is to glorify the Father. This same purpose becomes the mark of those who would follow Jesus. Our passage will be John 12:20-36. Download MP3 Audio
